Enterprise-grade Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A copper infrastructure for commercial and industrial facilities — installed with proper pathway support, clean terminations, complete labeling, and certified testing.
Structured cabling is the physical foundation that every network, phone system, access control system, and security camera runs on. When it's installed right, everything works. When it's not, everything suffers.
TCSS has been installing commercial structured cabling systems in North Carolina and the Southeast for over 43 years. We install Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A copper cabling for commercial office buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare environments, education campuses, and government buildings — with the kind of organization, documentation, and attention to detail that holds up years after project turnover.
Our installations are built for serviceability. Every run is properly supported, every port is labeled, every connection is terminated to spec and certified with a calibrated cable tester. When a technician opens that telecom room five years from now, they'll know TCSS was in there.
Before a cable moves, we've reviewed the telecom drawings, walked the pathways, and coordinated with other trades. We know where every run goes, how it's supported, and what the finished telecom room looks like — before the first spool is opened. That planning shows up in the finished product.
IDF and MDF rooms are our calling card. Cables are bundled, labeled, routed with purpose, and managed so the rack looks as organized on the day of turnover as it does five years later. No spaghetti. No mystery cables. No unlabeled ports. Every patch panel is dressed to a standard that holds up to any inspection.
Every port is tested with a calibrated Fluke tester and certified to TIA-568 standards. Every run appears in the as-built documentation with port ID, cable path, and test result. When we hand over the turnover package, the building owner and their IT team have everything they need to manage the system from day one.
We install the cable standard that matches your project's bandwidth requirements, budget, and long-term growth plans. Most commercial projects today spec Cat6 at minimum — Cat6A is required for 10GbE runs or PoE++ devices.
We'll help you spec the right cable for your application during the bid review process. If the drawings call for something that won't serve the building well long-term, we'll flag it before it becomes a problem in the field.
Our recommendation for most commercial builds:
Cat6A throughout — it future-proofs the building for 10GbE, supports higher-wattage PoE for cameras and access control, and costs only marginally more than Cat6 at installation time.
| Standard | Speed | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Cat5e | 1 GbE | Retrofit / budget upgrades. Not recommended for new commercial builds. |
| Cat6 | 1–10 GbE | Standard commercial office. Solid baseline for most applications up to 55m at 10GbE. |
| Cat6A | 10 GbE full run | Recommended. Full 100m at 10GbE. Required for PoE++ (90W). Future-proof for all current applications. |
We review telecom drawings, confirm pathways, identify scope questions, and flag issues before mobilization.
Conduit, cable tray, J-hooks, and sleeves installed in coordination with framing, mechanical, and electrical trades.
Cable pulled, terminated to patch panels and outlets, dressed clean, and labeled at both ends per port schedule.
Every port certified with Fluke tester. As-built package with test reports, port maps, and photos delivered at turnover.
